Teenage girl victim of sex attack

A 16-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted after a night out.

The victim was with friends on Friday night when they met a group of youths near to Chicago Pizzas on Tonge Moor Road in Bolton.

The girl went with them towards the Starky Arms pub but was assaulted by one of the teenagers when she tried to walk off.

Det Con Gary Knox of Greater Manchester Police said that the attack was "a serious offence".

The attacker was white, 18 or 19 years old with short dark spiky hair.

Det Con Knox said: "The victim had been getting friendly with her attacker but when she tried to get away she was forced onto the floor and assaulted.

"This is a serious offence and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the Tonge Moor area at the time of the attack last night to come forward."
